Wondering if anyone is doing anything creative/different/fun or have seen anything they wish they could have done or do at their wedding! I just want my reception to be a blast so any ideas would be appreciated

We’re doing some karaoke…(we met at a karaoke bar) and prolly a DIY photo booth

I know it’s overdone in the wedding blog world, but we’re doing a photobooth!! I’ve only been to 1 wedding that had it and it was SO MUCH FUN! I’m so excited that we’re having one at our wedding. 😀

I’m having a very small Destination Wedding wedding with a short ceremony and dinner afterward. But if I was going a little bit more extravagant/have more people, I would have a cigar roller. I always liked that idea.

We had a photobooth, bonfire (and provide stick and marshmallow for people to make s’mores), and glow sticks for kids.
All of these are big hits. My friends with kids said their kids had the best time at our wedding

@Kym080412 – We did Karaoke as well!! My husband and I met at a Karaoke bar too. It was a blast! Most people thought I was insane when I mentioned we were doing karaoke but everyone enjoyed it, even the kids!! : )

photobooths are totally worth it! everyone at my wedding loved it…it seems so overdone but i havent been to a wedding yet that has had one, except for mine and i didnt even get to enjoy it like the guests did.
i really love the newleywed game where you sit back to back you have one of his shoes and he has one of yours, they ask questions like who is the messiest or who initianted the relationship and you hold up his shoe if you think he is and yours if you think you are – its neat to see what you agree or disagree on.

If we had a larger wedding, we would have had a cigar roller, for sure. So cool. But for our small wedding, we had pre-rolled cigars and a few bottles of good scotch for the gentlemen to enjoy after dinner. It was a hit.

We’re considering having a crepe station where we’d have one person standing by to make fresh crepes and then filling them with one of a few choices. Our venue has a huge outdoor space, so we’re also going to have croquet set up mostly because I think it will be an adorable photo op–people dressed in their finery playing croquet.

@BuzzBuzz: Crepes!?!?! I am sooo there! Yummy!

my mom’s best friend gave me the idea of doing crazy hour 🙂 it’s the last hour of the wedding or before bride and groom leave, where they play dance music and people put on silly hats and sunglasses and whatever else you have for your guests and everyone dances and takes tons of silly pictures 😀

@pandaboo: I really love this idea! I wish I had thought of something like that for my wedding!

We are having a photobooth, candy bar, lounge area, and late night snack – half an hour before our reception is over there will be tray passed milk & cookie shots.

I think the majority of guests going to weddings haven’t gone to a photobooth one before – we just think they are overdone because of WB.
One thing I think is cool is the cake-buffett. Instead of having a large tiered cake, have 5-6 smaller cakes.

My guests seemed to like the following: throwing white serpantine streamers for our entrance (rather than our exit), the photobooth, multiple cakes (2 tiered wedding cake, tiramasu cake, cheesecake, chocolate cake), & personal notes written on the inside of every escort card.
