So my FH cousin was originally going to be doing my makeup for me, but then couldn’t so I starting practicing a watching some youtube video on how to do makeup for weddings. I was feeling pretty good about it (not too much makeup, but more than I normally wear) and then out of the blue my FH cousin says she can do it.
I was looking forward because she’s works in a makeup store and always has nice makeup herself. She did a test run on me and it was…. DARK… smokey black eyes (take in mind my wedding is a morning ceremony) Even after we made it lighter it was still pretty dark for me.
I don’t want to insult her because I was originally really excited to have her do my makeup but now I’m not sure if I want her to do it.
THis is how I felt like I looked…..

LOL Ok I don’t know who that is but THAT is scary!
All joking aside, you should just do another trial with her and take some pictures after. Indoor and outdoors. That will give you a better idea of how it will show up on film. I did a test run a few weeks ago, and looking in the mirror I thought it was borderline drag queen, but in photos it looked soft and pretty.

Yeah, do another test, and tell her you want something lighter than last time. And like the PP said – take pictures. Heavy make up is needed for photography. Anything too light won’t show up. But of course you need to feel like yourself too.

@RiverBride13 haha I like the phrase “borderline drag queen.” I think I’m going to use that in everyday life. Maybe I will try to make another appointment…. I get married next Friday!! And definately a good idea to take pictures

ask her to use lighter colors and less eyeliner. You’ll regret it if you don’t speak up and say anything.
