Darling Husband owns (and now I guess I do too!) a Wii and a PS3. Pretty much all of the games are one player (except some of the sports-type Wii games) or aren’t really my style (shoot ’em up alien games). But I do really enjoy playing different games on these systems.
We have an Indiana Jones Lego Wii game that I think is SO fun (yes, the inner 12 year old squees with joy whenever we play it). I love it because there is a story, there is problem solving, it’s non-violent (whenever the players ‘die’ the lego pieces just shatter and then a second later you’re pieced back together and back in the game!), and the best part, is that it is cooperative! We work together to get through levels (yet each have control/our own screen) and I just think it’s a blast. But we’re nearly coming to an end of the game. 🙁
Do you potentially have any games that you play with Darling Husband that you love and could recommend, for either gaming console?

If you like that particular Lego game, I would recommend all the other lego games. There is another Indiana Jones one, there are three Star Wars ones, one Batman, one Pirates of the Caribbean and two Harry Potter ones that are currently out. It seems like there is a new Lego game every six months or so
We have an XBOX360, and have played Portal 2 together, as well as Marvel Ultimate Alliance, that don’t have too much violence/alien/shoot em up stuff in them. Not sure if these are available on the Wii or PS3 or not.
I love playing coop games with the hubby!

@broadwaygal: Awesome, thanks for the recommendations! We tried playing the Star Wars lego game, though I think it was made a few years before, and so it was a bit more clonky, and the screens wouldn’t seperate, so we always had to ‘stay together’. The nice thing about the Indian Jones one we have is we can ‘seperate’ and go explore bits of the level but still be ‘working together’. But you’re right, they are coming out with new ones all the time so we’ll have to take a look at some of the others.
I’m not sure if the others you mentioned are on the Wii or PS3, but I’ll def be checking it out. Thanks again!

Portal 2 is our coop game of choice and it is available on PS3…the puzzles can be challenging but the “story” is fantastic….and there’s a super cute song at the end! That’s about the only video game I play. Even with 2 XBOX’s in the house, I still don’t think I’d get much play time if I wanted to between fiance and future step son!

I’m excited to check out Portal 2 – thanks for the suggestions, ladies!
