Okay so I follow the rule of NO RULES! There’s so many ways to dress you BM’s.  You can have them wear different dresses of the same color or the same dress in different shades of the one color or the same dress in the same color.  There’s also websites where you can find dresses at extremely reasonable prices.  I used Azazie (I’m in the US) and I loved them but there’s also Lulu’s, JJ’s House, etc.  Just research “affordable Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses”.   Good luck and congrats!

just gonna plug Azazie….you can definitely get a similar dress and in that color.  Plus they can custom make the dress to your measurments and its not extra!

Yes I was very happy with the results.  My sister was too!  Here’s my experience.  I got measurements from mom & sis and submitted them with my order.  They sell under regular sizes as well but I wanted a custom fit.  If I had any issues I was able to contact via email and I got a response usually around 24-48 hours.  Mom & sis received their dresses about 5 weeks after ordering. I made sure I ordered well in advance of the wedding so if they had to get extra adjustments made they could with no time crunch. Here’s my sister’s look:

FutureMrs0626 :  Of course I’d tell you to vet any website but I spent a lot of time on Azazie heming & hawing…..looking at reviews & pics and seeing how different dresses looked on actual human bodies instead of models.   I decided to take a chance with them and yes I was worried the entire time but they came through and I wasn’t disappointed!  (I think in total I spent less than $200 for both dresses)

We used azazie for my sisters wedding and I would give it 4 stars. Not perfect and the shaping in some of the dresses was a bit weird but I think that is just to be expected from tailored dresses ordered online. I ordered one of their standard sizes and not custom (which they do offer for free) because I ordered several styles to try and compare and wanted to be able to return. If you go with them I’d recommend having everyone do custom sizing because at 5’6″ and wearing 3 inch heels I still had to have my dress hemmed just a bit. I believe if you do the custom sizing they also give you a credit of about $50 for any additional tailoring necessary. The dress shop where my sister purchased her dress mentioned their custom sizing was great. She chose a color for us and let us pick any style we wanted, which was really nice

FutureMrs0626 :  What I really liked is that they have a crapload of dress styles and can make them in almost any color you want.  Plus you can order fabric swatches.  I also did a seperate review of Azazie to see if there were any complaints online…..of course there were but not enough to put me off and nothing that said they were scammers.  They’re legit as far as I”m concerned.

But like I said, vet, vet, vet!

Edit: So I was wrong with the costs of both dresses.  I got a little to quick with the posting.  I paid a little over $300 for both dresses.  Sorry about that.

FutureMrs0626 :  I was a bridesmaid where the bride had us use Azazie and I had a great experience!  We were all given a color and length and told to pick whatever design we wanted in her color.  I did not do a custom dress and it fit perfectly per the sizing guide.  My sister was also in the wedding and chose to do custom measurements, which worked well for her too.  The only issue with custom is that you cannot return/exchange while you can if you order a regular size.  I paid under $200 for my dress and there were others that were even more affordable.

bubbly2018 :  Agree that the dress was long.  I’m 5’5 and wore 4-5 inch heels with it and it was just a tad too long, but not enough for me to hem it.

I just asked my friends to buy any long dress in the color palette I picked. No preference on fabric, cut, etc. They all seem pretty happy about it!

Azazie wasn’t around when I got married (or wasn’t big) but I haveo ordered multiple Azazie Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses. Their measurements are right on. First time around I ordered two standard sizes. According to their website, I was in between those sizes. Dresses came, sure enough, I was right in between. I ended up sending them both back for something off the shelf because I was out of time to reorder custom but the dresses were fine and like I said they were accurately sized.

Next time around I ordered a custom size. It was a a tiny bit big. I think it was honestly my fault because I added a .75 inch to the midsection measurement because I was afraid if I sent the exact measurement I wouldn’t have breathing room. I should not have done that. Anyway, it was not loose enough that I needed to have it taken in, I just dealt with it. It was OK, and the dress looked great.

advice:  if you are wearing 3 inch heels, you are probably only going to be 2 inches taller so have someone measure you when you are wearing them so you order the right amount of length. I did this, the length was perfect.

I saw comments online about the quality. The quality was fine, but I went into it knowing I’d wear the dress one time. I donated it afterwards, simply becuase I have no need of a floor length blue gown.

bottom line I would do Azazie again for sure. There are so many styles there will be something for any body type. I don’t feel comfortable about my upper arms, and I got a cap sleeve. Problem solved.

somewhat unrelated: if you are a bride, please do not dictate chiffon, especially in a light color. Unless you are stick thin, chiffon is hard.

I just said some shade of blush and long and let my Maid/Matron of Honor pick whatever she wanted. If the bridesmaids are paying for their dresses, I would let them choose.
