I do the keratin every 4-6 months.. and you are correct.. they just put it in and you cannot wash it for 3 days (no headband, barrets, or hair ties either). I have found the coppala actually dried out my hair.. I now use global keratin and Im alot happier.

I had done it two or three times and my hair got REALLY dry… liek I said I do it every 4-6 months. My hair almost looked like straw.. the global I feel lasts longer.. looks better.. and keeps my hair nourished.

I did the Global Keratin treatment and didn’t have to go back…like you said you basically can’t touch your hair for a few days (mine was 2 days).  Like, you can’t put it behind your ear, or anything!!  If your hair gets a kink in it, it can stay there so that *could* be why he said to come back everyday, but to me that’s crazy.  I brought a little straightener with me wherever I went and if I saw a spot I was worried about, I just straightened it back out myself!

I only did it once though, my nautrally curly hair is a nightmare in the humidity, but I like having the option to curl my hair if I want.  With that, once it was straight that was it…not a curling iron in the universe would curl my hair and keep it that way!  I also had to wash my hair every other day (I usually go longer) and even then it tended to look greasy.  My mom and sister do it though, they both love it!

  1. Interesting – I’ve been dithering about this for a while. How do you sleep for the 3 days? I toss and turn and my hair is everywhere.

Usually it doesnt get too messed up overnight.. if your hair gets wet or gets krinkly overnight, the straighten that part of your hair on the hottest setting when you wake up and go over it a couple of times..

@Mrsgurzakovic:  If you love your curly hair and don’t want it straight, you should try the deva curl hair products. I highly recommend them.

My Future Sister-In-Law did this on my hair and the only instructions were to keep my hair from getting wet and to keep it from getting kinks and to straighten ASAP if it does. I certainly did not have to get her to straighten my hair every day for 3 days – dude is trying to milk you for $$ Thant being said Future Sister-In-Law does charge normally $200-300 a treatment…

Also the Coppola Kertain treatment does NOT make your hair straight, it did relax the curl by making it wavy, dry faster and not frizzy. If you only have waves it might straigten it out but if you’ve got actual curls I wouldn’t worry. I loved it and plan on getting it done again sometime at the end of this month as the more treatments you get the better condition your hair will be in because they build up. There is also a cheaper one that only lasts 30 days and you can wash your hair in a matter of hours if you’re looking to just test it out to see if you like it or not.

Edit: if you’d like some before and after pictures I have some ok ones I could post.

@Mrsgurzakovic:  Nope! No sulfates. I dont think it’s as natural as I like (I alternate with shampoo from whole foods that makes me sound like a tree hugger) but it works so well. I would recommend trying it before taking the plunge with a pricey treatment that might damage your hair!
