I *think* I only got one. DMV just looked at it and Social Security sent it back.

i only got one. SS just looked at it, i think maybe made a copy and gave it back. took that same one to the DMV and they looked at it then gave it back. since then i’ve just scanned it and printed it for other things (like frequent flyer miles) and then brought the original to my bank so they could make a copy on legal sized paper (though they would have accepted a copy to begin with)

I got like 6 copies and I think I still have them all… SS and the DMV both just looked at them and handed them back to me. I think I might have to send one in with my passport but I haven’t gotten around to that yet. My bank didn’t even ask for my license.

oops sorry. I remember wrong, SS looked at it. It was my passport that I sent it in and they sent it back.

Copies are fine for banks.

Copy for work as well. You might want to double check with your work but mine just needed a copy that they sent along to payroll, taxes, etc.

I ordered a total of 4 copies just so I can send out copies to all everyone @ the same time.  My bank asked for a copy.  As well as his bank.  DMV.  Social Security office and now I’m working on my passport.

We ordered 3 copies and still have all of them.  Everybody either just wanted to see one, made their own copy, or asked for a certified copy of our copy. Nobody wanted to keep our “original copies”.

Yeah, I got 2, but that was just to be careful. No one keeps a copy, they just look at it so you just need 1.

i needed an original for my professional licenses and my passport. everyone else just glanced at it and gave it back.  i got the original and ordered 2 extra so i could update my licenses and passports all at once. but they’ll send them back to me in a few weeks.  so you could get by with one if you are ok with sending it out for your passport, but i’d just get a few copies just in case.

No one needed to keep an original copy of ours either. They either looked at it and gave it back or I scanned and emailed them a copy.

When we applied the woman at the town clerk’s office said not to get too many certified copies because most places either want copies or will return your original.
