So my dress is intended to have a corset back and a black sash. I’m not using the sash that they provided with the dress. I think I’d rather just tie it rather than have it altered to fit around my waist. I’m starting to worry it won’t look right.. I’m wondering if maybe I could use the black knot/bow to cover the bottom of the corset? I don’t know. Will it look stupid? Any other pictures of a corset and sash? I’m also getting a lace back/sraps sewn on, so I don’t want it to look like too much is going on either.

I only tried on one dress with a corset back with a sash-it was designed so that it would hook into the corset in such a way the the entire corset still showed. My dress has buttons and a sash that will just tie about the back-I don’t think this looks weird and I think that doing it with a corset back is similar. Yes it will cover part of the corset but unless that bothers you I think it will be fine. I mean, that’s what a sash is all about-it ties on and there is no mystery to it. I don’t think it will look weird.

Personally, I don’t like the look of the sash over the corset. If it were me, I’d see if a seamstress could sew/hook into the corset like

I think it would look better to have it sewn on and stop at the seam to show the whole corset. I did something similar.
