I think you could get it taken in a bit at the hips/lower waist if you wanted the laces to be a bit wider.  However you don’t want to do that too much or else it will start to look strange if the corset is open down over your behind, you know?  I also think it would be totally fine if you left it the way it is.  It looks fine the way it is now, and the only reason to change it would be if you knew it would bother you. And yeah, just tuck the strings in, unless you like the look of a bow (I personally don’t).

I think i know what you mean. My dress has a corset back & the bottom of it is about an inch apart from the seams (see link)

It looks like you were in a David’s Bridal in your pics? Can you call them & make an earlier appt to talk to them sooner? My David’s bridal was really lenient with me & I changed my appts a few times. Good luck, hope it works out

Well, your only options, if you want to change it, are to insist on an earlier appointment at your David’s, or to find an outside alterations person who can help you sooner.  But keep in mind, if you make that area tighter, it will cling to your stomach more, which is a concern for some people.  Or you can leave it the way it is.  I think it looks fine as it is now, and really the only reason to change it would be for your own peace of mind, not because it looks bad (because it doesn’t).  So you have to decide if that is worth the effort to you, and no one but you can tell you whether it is or not.
