monsterly:  That second ring is just gorgeous holy crap! We had mine custom made, it’s platinum and I bought my stone elsewhere. The small diamonds the jeweler provided. We’re near Fredericksburg, VA. Our jeweler charged us around $2800.

Sorry that the picture is so large! We customized my engagement ring. We picked out the setting (pave yellow gold) and a .5 carat radiant diamond. We also added a white gold halo. I really love my ring and the fact that I get to wear a white gold band and a yellow gold band to match 🙂 Altogether, my Engagement Ring was about $2200.

MstoMrsH:  Very pretty! I really like the 8 prongs, you don’t see that much!. What kind of stone is the center if you don’t mind me asking, it’s not a diamond or it’s custom type of cut?

I love the second ring you posted!  My setting was custom made by David klass. I bought my center stone elsewhere and sent it to him to be set. My ring is 18k white gold with a .45 carats G Vs1 diamond halo and a floral milgrain gallery. The setting cost $1250. I was given an estimate of  $3500 from a local jeweler for the same design but with lower quality diamonds. David is awesome and does amazing work.

Here’s a link to his Facebook page so you can check out some of his work, he does alot of vintage inspired pieces.

I had a custom ring made by David Klass, too. It’s a wedding band (not an ering I know, sorry OP) and it has 6 grams of platinum, and 6 diamonds that are H color VS1 that equal .75cttw. He only charged us $1,600 and I literally couldn’t believe he made any money off of that price. I would look into DK like PP suggested. He really does amazing work and charges unbeatable prices!!

monsterly:  Both my engagement ring and wedding-band were custom made; my engagement ring is a replica of my original engagement ring, but in platinum instead of 9K white gold, with much higher quality diamonds, and my wedding band is diamond and platinum and shaped to fit around it with a small gap (I was a nightmare with the wedding band; first I wanted straight, then curved but flush, then curved with a gap :-/).

Cost was £1770 (approx $2650) for the engagement ring, and £960 (approx $1450) for the wedding band. With the engagement ring the bulk of the cost was in materials and labour (it’s a cluster so the stones weren’t mega-expensive).

With that sort of style, the bulk of the cost will be in materials and labour; it’s a pretty intricate design that is going to take time to replicate and cast, and my guess is that that is where most of the cost will lie. I would suggest contacting a few different jewellers for quotes. Also, because the design is so unique and so delicate, I would be prepared for the result not looking exactly the same. With mine they had the actual ring to work from, so could get the dimensions etc spot-on (I made some minor adjustments); in your case that won’t be possible, so just bear that in mind.

Good luck, it is absolutely stunning! I love that type of setting.

mrssloan2013:  how do you get in touch with David Klass? Everyone speaks so highly of him, but never says how they reached him or got a quote.

I am currently going through Enchanted Diamonds (I got my center stone there) for my engagement ring reset. They are giving me an amazing price – $1100 for platinum custom ring! I am a long time customer and have referred many happy people to them for both diamonds and settings.

If you do check them out, chat with Jill (in the chat window) and say that Tia referred you 🙂

monsterly:  I’m getting my custom engagement ring currently done with Whiteflash for $2970 including the center diamond (.524 carats I Vs2). The band has 0.4ctw 6 sapphires and 0.12ctw diamond melee (F/G VS). They really worked with me on meeting my budget- you should check with them- they have an online chat and they’re open on weekends too!

monsterly:  Ours cost $2900. It’s platinum with pave diamonds. We bought the center diamond separately and had a jeweler who is a family friend create a custom setting for it. We got a break on the price, so I’m not sure how much it would have cost had he not been a friend.
