I would love to have a cake that looks like these. I live in New York too…. Any ideas on how to make this happen and places to go? Even if you don’t know where I should order from-can anyone estimate the cost of each cake and if you are already married- I would love, love, love to know how much you paid and if you could add photos of your cake OR a friend’s cake with the price I would be so indebted. These cakes will be more beautiful than the bride herself (me!)

Typically, bakers in my area charge about $3-5 per slice. Ours was about $550 for a 4 tier with a couple of sheet cakes (to reduce the cost a bit). Hopefully, someone local can help you more.

Have you used etsy before?
They have a custom section where you can request something at your price range and wait til someone can complies.
Or hunt down a local baker through craigslist that does freelance.
Or rent a fake cake and serve the cheap sheet cake.

The blown sugar bubble cake was $600. for 100 people.
This was buttercream for 120. Included in the venue, but seperately would have been $500.
Costs will vary on complexity and region. I’m in NJ.

So in CT the cake prices range from $4-$7 bucks per slice. I would assume it’s the same in NY area unless you’re in Buffalo area.

@mslk116: The first was made by a baker we found on Craigslist. She’s in mid/north New Jersey. Cakes by Lindsey.http://www.peaceofcakes.com/
The second was made by the bakery for the Sheraton in Eatontown. I’ll find the baker’s name.
Similar names, but different places.
