I paid $180 for mine and I had purple stock, purple lisianthus, purple carnatioons, white peonies, and green hypericum berries. It just depends on what flowers you want to use.

I also found florist prices to be ridiculous.  So we decided we are going with Sam’s Club flowers.  They actually have packages where you can buy the actual bouquets and boutineers, not just wholesale flowers.  We are getting the entire bridal party’s bouquets/bouts and corsages/bouts for parents and grandparents.  Total price: just under $300.

I also found the prices of flowers to be insane.  So we are getting a florist to make the my bouquet ($100), my girls’ bouquets, and bouts for the guys and we are doing the rest ourselves.  We’ll be making some reception centerpieces and some pew cones to fill with something easy like hydrangea.  I think we’ll be saving at least a few hundred dollars by doing it this way!

@Nic01:  Flowers are expensive here. When I was plannign my wedding at home my 24 rose bouquet was quoted at $200 plus dollars. We ended up getting married in the states where the exact same bouquet cost me a meare $80!.

Flowers differ in price and it all comes down to availability, type, amount and location. Prices in Melbourne vary from prices in Sydney which vary from prices in Darwin! $200 would probably be the average cost of a simple bouquet. If you want to add orchids or other exotics then the price will go up. It is also because it has the word wedding in it!

An option if you haev the skills is to just order the flowers (and not ssay wedding) and put the bouquets together yourself. This would work if you just want one type of flower bound together (think the more traditional rose bouquet). You could also try the markets!

Good luck and don’t worry there are a million more price tag shock moments awaiting you in wedding planning!

@Nic01:  You could also try the local tafe and see if they have an talented students who can do it for you cheaply or even try your local community centre/neighbourhood house and see if they teach a floral design course and then ask the teacher if they would like to earn a little extra cash!

My total florist bill for my bouquet, 5 bridesmaids’ bouquets, 4 mother/grandmother corsages, 8 boutineers and a mini bouquet/mini boutineer for the flower girl and ring bearer was $700.  I don’t remember exactly how everything was split up but I think the bouts were $15 each, bridesmaid’s bouquets were $50 each and my bouquet was $200.  My bouquet was (all white) roses and ranculus with a little bit of greenery.  Overall I think we got ripped off-the flowers are the one thing I was disappointed with from my wedding – my florist didn’t listen to what I wanted/didn’t want, despite that I brought him pictures of everything and I wasn’t happy at all with my bouquet (my mom even ended up beefing up my bouquet with flowers from the roses we’d ordered for the reception).  We did all the reception flowers ourselves using Costco bulk order roses and I honestly wish I’d just done that for the bouquets too.  The Costco flowers were absolutely gorgeous and (comparatively) super cheap ($80/100 stems).
