We spent about $75 on each of our 6 BMs and 6 Groomsmen and probably $65-70 on each of our 2 ringbearers and our flower girl.

I think I am getting a great deal on periodot earrings on overstock and then probably a shawl at a great price from a nearby store to my mom. In total it will be less than $40 if I go with those two items.

I struggled with Bridesmaid or Best Man gifts.  I think there’s multiple factors to take into account.  I had an Maid/Matron of Honor and a Bridesmaid or Best Man. They bought their own dresses (almost $200) and accessories for the day, and it was an out-of-town wedding so they had to fly out and get hotel rooms.  For them, these expenses definitely did not cause financial hardship but I still felt a little guilty about them.  I paid for professional hair and makeup, and I spent about $180 each for their gifts.

My husband actually went a little out-of-control (and I was upset about this), and fully paid for his brother’s (the best man) custom-made suit (but then he’s always very generous when it comes to his brother), and a little less than half the cost of a custom-made suit for his groomsman.  When he told me about this AFTER he’d committed to paying these costs and they’d ordered them, I told him that those were the gifts for the guys.  I can’t remember exactly how much these things cost, but I thought this was kind of crazy.

For my girls, I got rollable flats to wear when the heels got too painful, and jewellery that I thought each would like (not just jewellery I wanted them to wear on the wedding day).

i spent about $120 per Bridesmaid or Best Man and I got them a Coach wristlet. So I say, come up with a budget on how much you want to spend on the gifts and divide that amount amoungst your bridal party.

And i wouldn’t worry about making them feel uncomfortable if you spend a large amount on the gifts. I once got a tiffany’s necklace as a Bridesmaid or Best Man gift and it was well over $500. Not for a second did i think “ewww, i really wish she hadn’t spent this much” but more like “OMG this is so amazing, i love it!!!”

We’ve budgeted for “>$201” because we’ll be paying for the groomsmen tux rentals and bridesmaid dresses (we have 3 GMs and 3 BMs).  Depending on how much the dresses cost we may also pay for their hair and makeup.  We’ll also give them a thank you gift on our wedding day.

I’m spending a little over $60.  I did clutches from Etsy and some fun watches, in my wedding colors, that I bought through my wedding planner.
