ilovesophia:  my ring was an heirloom, but it is worth significantly more than my wedding cost, so I voted more than 100%.

Our wedding was very simple and just family, and it cost $500. My engagement ring cost about $1,200. So my ring cost more. 🙂

ilovesophia:  i dont know how much money my Darling Husband paid for my ring. He never told me. It was apprased for $12K but he said he didn’t pay that much for it. If i go based off the appraisal, my ring was 20% of my budget

Engagement ring was about $1,000 and wedding will cost about $65,000, so ring is less than 2%.

Oh geez.. where we live, there are so few wedsing venues, we totaled it up the other day and our ring budget is about 4 times greater than our wedding budget.. That being said we don’t plan on doing an upgrade ever, and I would much rather have an heirloom to pass onto a potentional future child/neice/nephew..

our ring budget was ~$20,000 (although I wont come close to spending that at all) and our wedding will probably end up costing ~$4,000 at a maximum, probably less as I’m pretty cheap when it comes to this sort of thing

My ring was $20,000ish and the wedding will probably be around $100,000 when all is said and done.

I love this thread! Im still planning and I am estimating my ring will end up being <6% compared to the cost of the wedding.  I voted less than 5% because 5-15% is a big difference and I didnt pay for my Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses but if I did that should be factored in.  And Im sure there will be some unexpected cost somewhere down the line increasing the cost of the wedding.

My ring was about $1500. We are aiming for about $5000 for the wedding.
