My venue is taking care of the reception flowers; however, for the bridal party and ceremony I have to cover the bill. The florist I went to is charging me $505.00 for my bouquet, boutonnières (9), three bridesmaids bouquet, two maid of honor bouquets, and corsages for my mother and mother-in-law and four ushers. The ceremony decor will be minimal since the church will already be decorated, ivory draped with pin lights on each aisle. Is that a reasonable price for flowers? My flowers are green and white hydrangea, and green and white roses.

It’s not hugely expensive, I think, I was quoted 800euro (ca $1000, I think) for about the same, plus 16 pew ends.
I chickened out, we’re gonna do them ourselves. I like flowers, and my Future Mother-In-Law loves them, so we’re gonna order from the flower market (hell the supermarket is cheap enough, really) and spend an enjoyable couple hours putting stuff together the evening before, except for pew ends – I will *attempt* poms!. (We don’t do rehearsal dinners here.)
If you have someone who likes pottering about with flowers in the family, maybe DIY is a good option for you? Otherwise, I wouldn’t be too freaked about the price, if your budget can handle it. There’s a lot to be said for Do It Someone Else…

I did my own flowers; I spent only $190 for long stemmed roses for my bouquets and all the table arrnagements I did myself and rose flower arrangements for 6 tables, we had a small party so I was able to do it all myself; I just ordered from the corner grocer and he cut me a deal at 0.65 per stem and chose the best roses for me since I was a regular, they were beautiful! I think I ordered about 240 flowers or so
it was a lot of hard work but it turned out exactly like I wanted, I had lots of compliments

I think that’s inexpensive compared to mine. I am getting my bouquet, 3 Bridesmaid or Best Man bouquets, 4 boutonnieres, and 2 corsages for $400 but I’m not having them delivered. Mine is roses and hydranga, the BM’s are carnations (lots bunched together so they look like hydranga) mums and roses, and the other things are single roses.

That doesn’t sound that overpriced. However, wedding flowers are so overpriced in general.

Sounds to me like you got a good price!

Price sounds really reasonable and affordable actually. Bouquets can be really pricing and coursages cost more than bouts.
