We went to Jamaica for 6 nights for 4K including flights. It sucks that all of the affordable Caribbean destinations aren’t a possibility if you’re considering having children soon. Have you looked at groupon for deals? You may have to postpone your honeymoon depending on when the deals are offered but it’s an option.

We are doing 2: Australia for 10 days and Natchez, MS for a mini moon for 3 days at a beautiful antebellum mansion!

In total, it will be about $6000 for both. 😱

I just came back from The Bahamas, and the CDC is (was?) claiming it’s a Zika free country. Maybe look into it more, but none of the locals were worried about it, nor the tourists we saw on the day trips. I wasn’t staying at a resort, so saw some mosquitos, but apparently the Atlantis, and the One and Only (GORGEOUS beach) spray pretty well.

Darling Husband and I live in Ontario, and went to Montreal Quebec for five days and four nights. We chose Montreal because we went there for my 25th bday and loved it! Plus we didn’t want to break the bank. We budgeted $2,500. Our wedding gifts actually came to $3,000 so we used that to pay for the trip and spent the ‘extra’ $500 on more shopping! We took the train, stayed in a ‘Mom and Pop’ hotel, and used the Metro and walked everywhere. Darling Husband indulged me in unleashing my ‘inner geek’ and we visited:

    -Museum Of Contemporary Art

    -Museum Of Fine Art

    -Science Centre

    -Old Port

We also spent half a day shopping and on our last evening we had dinner at a VERY swanky resto-lounge.

Despite the full iterary we never once felt rushed, or like we had to pinch our pennies. We planned out which area of the city we’d be in each day and group together a few of the ‘hot spots’ I listed based on that…but a lot of stuff happened organically too.

My only regret was I wanted to see a play at the historic Centaur theatre, but nothing we wanted to see was playing at the time. If I could do it all over again I would have been a little less picky and gone to whatever just so I could say I’d seen a play there.

We are in Australia. We’re going on our honeymoon during the holiday period, so factoring that in and also that we chose nicer accommodation than usual, ours is costing us $8000+ AUD.

We are going to Singapore, Palawan (in the Philippines), Bangkok and finishing up in Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam. We’ll be away for 3 weeks 🙂

We spent about 5k for eight nights in a preferred club room and flights to Secrets Silversands in Puerto Morelos, Mexico. I’d say another thousand or so on miscellaneous costs like excursions and tipping. It was perfect 🙂

We decided to take a big chunk of our wedding budget and put it towards a honeymoon. We booked 21 days in Europe. We will visit Amsterdam, France, and Spain. All told, it will cost about $8k. I’m super excited. I’m not sure if I’m having more fun planning the wedding of the honeymoon!

We are planning 2 weeks in Europe (Amsterdam, Belgium, London and Dublin) for around $4k.   We are pretty frugal travelers though, we’d rather stay in an air bnb and cook most of our meals than stay in fancy hotels and eat out for every meal.

snowflake8 :  I would love to hear some tips on hotels/restaurants or even cities if you would recommend somewhere outside of Montreal! We’re in Ohio and are considering Canada. We’re definitely not far along in the planning but I’d like to do a cabin for half and then more a city destination for the other half so I’ve looked at Montreal.

We went to Bali for two weeks, and we splurged compared to our regular travel habits, but it’s very inexpensive to be there.  Spent $5-6,000.

I think just 2800 for 10 days at St John USVI with airline miles and family hotel discount.   We wanted an inexpensive honeymoon since we’d just spent 12k for a month in Australia and new Zealand 6 months earlier.

I think we will spend a minimum of £30,000 for our one year backpacking honeymoon. We will go to the sub-Indian region as well as parts of: Asia, Australia, South America and Africa
