I am looking at doing some hors d’oeuvres at one of the places that I am considering having my wedding. Most of the prices seem pretty reasonable 30-60 pp for dinner, salad, bread, etc. However, the hors d’oeuvres seem out of this world expensive but perhaps I am misreading it; here are some examples:
Chicken Cordon Bleu
5.75 per piece
Miniature Beef Wellington
6.25 per piece
BBQ Duck Eggroll
5.75 per piece
Do these seem reasonable? Am I missing something? I’m supposed to be estimating a few per person right? But this quickly turns my dinner total from 3000 to 5000 or more..

I am thinking about it and i had each of my guests having only 2 of each of the 3 above examples(most of which reflect the low-end on the price range) that would automatically add 35.5 to the cost of each guest which seems pretty ridiculous when I can basically do a whole dinner at that cost..

Caterers I’ve looked at do passed hors d’oeuvres anywhere from $13 per person (for 2 choices) to $30 per person (for five choices). I’ve never seen it broken down per piece, though. That IS going to get very pricey very quickly.

I always figured guests would probably assume 2-3 of each choice. I feel like hor d’oeuvres would be a great way to pamper guests but I mean i’d be looking at over 2000 for hors d’oeuvres alone if i did a few of each pp.

Maybe it’s a per guest cost instead of per piece? Otherwise it’s ridiculously high.
Never mind… apparently I can’t read. That is quite high!
