My hubby and I went in August of 2013 gorgeous country you will love it it was our best vacation so far! Rain is heavy from 6pm to 6am pretty much we got soaked while going to dinner most of the time but the days are perfect we were there for two weeks and maybe it rained twice during the day For our time there. Its not too sunny sometimes gray but still put on sunscreen because we burned as we didnt re apply it enough because we thought we didnt need to. Make sure you go to horseback riding and zip lining in Arenal, The Tbacon hot springs, manuel antonio has the most beautiful beach when you walk through the national park there. We drove from the airport to the west coast and had a blast though the roads can be a bit scary at times there.

We are doing our honeymoon in April next year, a cycling tour of Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama! My research says that the rainy season (May to November) is quite intense. Temperature wise it doesn’t change very much….

dgfont:  That’s exactly what I did! Got married on June 28th (this year) and spent July1-10 in Costa Rica. We loved it!!! Sure it rained sometimes, but it was short, then the sun dries it all up. If you have the money to splurge, stay at a Nayara Springs. You will not regret it. I spent half the time there and half at a highly rated spot in Manuel Antonio. Nayara is tops in my book. Costa Rica is beautiful.

I went in April for two weeks and it was definitely rainy. I think it rained almost every day we were there but most of the time it would let up after about an hour or two. The weather was still very warm and we had plenty to do. If I could go back again I would go during the non-rainy season but I still don’t regret my trip at all. Costa Rica is gorgeous, pictures do not do it justice. We stayed near the volcano and I got to see it erupt!! I wouldn’t trade that experience for anything. You will have an amazing time! Just make sure to bring a light rain coat and waterproof shoes 🙂
