Ooh, I want calla lillies for my wedding too.  I’m bumping this to see if anyone can respond because now I’m curious too.

I am doing calla lillies as well and I will be ordering them in bulk from a vendor here in Toronto and doing the bouquets myself. I’m mixing roses with calla lillies. Here’s my inspiration picture:

Can’t help you with the calla lillies but I was looking at Costco for roses so if you hear anything please let me know!

I’m planning to order and make the bouquets with my girls. I don’t see Calla Lilies on the Costco Website? Did you get pricing in store? How much were they?

I’ve been emailing a few companies that deliver in the Toronto area:

flowers-direct.ca 2.75/stem for closed calla lilies or 5.25/stem for open cut plus $35 for delivery – I’m just worried if I go for the closed ones they won’t open up for me! Anyone try this before?

Waiting for quotes from 2 more

I was going to have calla lilies at my wedding but I couldn’t afford them at local flower shops. I was looking at ordering them online but reconsidered. Calla lilies are delicate flowers. More so than roses. A lot of times they don’t make the delivery well. I’ve heard really bad things especially if you’re going with white. They brown very quickly if not handled right. If you are picking them up somewhere where there is some quality assurance than I’d be more willing to try.

My florist uses articial calla’s.  They said real calla’s are so delicate that heat or cold can ruin them.  I mixed 3 artificial calla’s in with my roses and they looked great.  You couldn’t tell the difference at all!

I ordered callas from Sam’s Club. My aunt made our bouquets, and so I had them sent directly to her house. She followed the instructions on Sam’s Club website for how to keep them until she was ready to assemble them (I had them come in on a Thursday for our Saturday wedding). They were gorgeous!

I ordered Calla Lilies and Hydrangeas from Sam’s Club, and they were beautiful! My mother, my grandmother and I did all the arrangements and bouquets, Friday afternoon.  We had the flowers delivered on Thursday.

@couawilou: one from the states that uses local flower shops (wayyy more expensive)

flowers-direct seems the best so far… unless costco can beat it!

did you get any good quotes yet?

@thanlon_88:  I’m still waiting to hear back from http://www.flowerswholesale.ca/ and flowers-direct.ca. I’m really thinking about going with silk flowers as well and I’ve heard good things about afloral.

I also found this website http://www.flowers.pacificcallas.com/index.htm and it’s all about Calla Lillies, not sure how good they are though compared to others, I gotta do some research.

@couawilou:  oh that pacific one was the expensive states one… don’t bother

silk flowers would definitely be easier to work with and I’m not a huge flower person but I think I want real 🙂

silk aren’t any less expensive right? I think I priced them out a few months ago

@thanlon_88:  Oh ok thanks for the info. I’m not sure if the silk is cheaper, I have to find out. I want to go with real ones.
