I am recently engaged, but since I am strating graduate school, my beau and I want to get married lickety-split! I’m not a real ‘wedding dress’ type of bride, but I still think that they are beautiful, and I want one, of course.
I’m not really a fan of the fabric that is typical of wedding dresses so I am looking for a dress made of cotton, or linen, or any other eco-friendly (+wallet friendly + not-itchy feeling friendly) gown.

@GISella: There was this wonderful article in a Bridal mag last year talking about Custom dresses and how the new trend with that was Cotton/Linen and the like… I’d have to dig… Perhaps another Bee knows about it…
Anyway, you can try googling custom designers online? There are “affordable” ones out there, it’s just the looking.
http://www.ckhall.com/ That’s one for a start.
Secondly, If you are really going for fast, “simple” fabric. JCrew/Anthropologie and VARIOUS others have Bridal/Bridal’esque dresses.

If you’re willing to make a day trip I would check out downtown LA, I just went there last week and they had plenty of dresses…
