I don’t use an app, I just keep track of how long I’m supposed to run/walk. When I ran outside I would use my ipod to time it which was kind of inconvenient but now that it’s so hot out I run on the treadmill and it’s much easier to use the treamill timer.

Ah gotcha. Yeah when I was running outside I would just time it using the songs on my ipod. It wasn’t as convenient but I’m not sure how else to do it. The thing I really didn’t like about that was that it was kind of distracting. My Fiance has a program where he basically creates his own for each week (he records himself saying walk or jog and inserts it into his playlist)

@notevenclose:  Unfortunately, they do not make the app for couch2k5 for anything except iphone or newer ipod touch. I had a first generation ipod touch and I had to buy a newer one to run the app because they didn’t even make it to run on the old touch software.

You can download podcast for C25K for any ipod, this from Robert is one of the most popular, his music of choice however is techno dance and he has cues for running/walking http://www.c25k.com/podcasts.htm. You can’t play your own music. If you are computer savvy you can probably make your own playlist on itunes with break intervals, here are the insturctions http://danterner.blogspot.com/2007/09/make-your-own-kind-of-music.html. I think if you can stand Robert’s music for first 3 weeks, it is worth it. After that I would just go by distance rather than time and play your own music. Find out from your gym how many laps per mile on your inside track, ex. 8 laps per mile. Week 3 has you walk/jog from 1/8 to 1/2 mile. So you know you can jog 4 laps and walk 1 lap and keep up with the C25K intervals while enjoying your won music. Plus there is something said about running on distance rather than time, you know exactly when the half-points and endpoinst are, you can push yourself a bit more because it’s more visual.
