So a little about me. In feb 2018 I had a tubal reversal, so I know about being high risk of an ectopic pregnancy.
In June 2018 I completely missed my period for the whole month and my Dr put me on Progesterone. My period came in July & Aug 2018. Sept is here and I was 4 days late, then I started spotting brown for a day and a half. The next day and half It was a light period which isnt normal. I just ended on Sept 10, 2018 and im still spotting (only when i wipe). Since i ended my period ive been having sudden sharp pains that come and go on my left side near my pelvis.
I was pregnant with my daughter and i had a period early in pregnancy…
Do i rule out pregnancy since I got a period? Could this be an ectopic?

I’ve never been pregnant but I just had a severely painful ruptured cyst last month and the symptoms I had cued them to check for an ectopic pregnancy. I didn’t have spotting though. The pain was a 10/10 and I had a burning sensation in my pelvis due to the fluid in there. The pain was also constant there was no intermittent breaks. It was truly awful. I would take a pregnancy test but I’m told ectopics dont always register on a HPT and you have to get blood work.

If you are worried about the possibility, get checked out and have an ultrasound. They are dangerous so don’t wait.

mdcs0128 : I had a suspected ectopic a few years ago. If you are concerned at all call your doctor. They will most likely do a blood test to check your hcg and possibly an ultrasound depending on the hcg results. Btw I never got a positive pregnancy test when I had mine but I did for the blood test. My levels were so low it didnt register on a home pregnancy test. My levels were slow rising and not doubling which was their clue something was wrong. I only got a blood test bc I was going through fertility treatment. If we were trying naturally I probably wouldnt have known until it was too late. I also had bad back pain which was also a clue something was wrong. Good luck! Your docotr should be able to rule it out!! As others have said they are so dangerous dont wait!! Also I got a period too so that doesnt rule it out unfortunately.
