@Mydreymz:  How ‘late’ are you?!  Also, I know that when you go off the pill – as I did years ago after being on it for 10+years, my body was kinda ‘outta’ whack for a few months.  I vaguely remember having the same symptoms as you…spotting on and off, etc.  However, depending on how late you are, a pregnancy test MAY not read positive, which is why I ask!!

I’m in sort of the same boat, BCP and timing wise. My solution right now is just to take a dollar store test about once a week until my period starts. I know the one time I went off the pill it took about 45 days to get a period. I’d have the same thing with some spotting, but nothing really, and I’m on day 38. I have been tracking my temps the Fertilty Friend app says it should start today, so we’ll see!

If I were you, I’d head to a dollar store and pick up a few cheapy tests. The ones in the drugstore are so expensive, especially when you know you probably aren’t but just want to make sure.

Nothing we can really tell you over the internet. Could be post-BC spotting; could be implantation bleeding; could be pre-menstruation spotting…

A pregnancy test will tell you, though. Probably worth the $25 rather than all the consternation.

Typically after coming off of oral contraceptives or any hormonal based method, your cycle can be whack on crack. Anything from bleeding all the time to not for months! Best of to just take a PG test just to be sure!

Yes, as others have said take continual tests, however, I believe your ‘cycle’ starts all over when you get your period.  So, if u counted the days from when your period ended, and it took you to Monday/Tuesday, technically you are probably ‘later’ than you think?!  Not to scare you!! But since the spotting started a week or so ago, perhaps it is going off your BC!  Keep us posted!

Keep us updated!

Also to me it sounds like you actually aren’t that late, if I’m understanding correctly. The 28 day cycle on the pill isn’t really the norm naturally, so being around 30 days or so since your last period isn’t long at all. Either way, coming off the pill is bound to make things kind of kooky.

When I first came off hormonal BC, my regular 28-30 day cycles morphed into a 46 day cycle, then a 38, then 36, then 34, then 30. So if the pregnancy test was negative, you probably aren’t pregnant but rather in an adjustment period after coming off BC.

P.S. The pull out method can fail a lot more than you think (there is sperm in men’s pre-ejaculate fluid)! If you aren’t looking to get a positve pregnancy test, I’d find another method of BC! 🙂

My friend just delivered a healthy baby while using the pull-out method! Go to planned parenthood or a federally qualified health center, they will get you birth control. Glad to hear it was negative if that’s what you were hoping!! =)

My period went crazy after getting off of BC.  I found that I would spot for a few days and then start and then spot again for a few days.  It was like a total of 9 days.  Which I was use to having a 3 day period!  I would test again tomorrow or Sunday.  If you don’t get your AF by then.
