I think as long as you didnt SKIP any pills you’ll be ok. I wouldnt worry too much right now. I’d jsut wait a week for your period to come.

I don’t understand why anyone would give you nasty responses…. am I missing something?

I would just wait and see if you get your period next week. I know at least with my birth control you can miss one pill and as long as you take 2 the next day you don’t need a back up method, so if you didn’t actually miss any pills, you just took them later than usual, you should be fine.

When I moved out to Texas to be with my fiance, I drove the 18 hours straight through, leaving at 4 am and getting there at like 9 pm. Somewhere in there, I completely forgot to take my pill for that day, and didn’t notice it until the NEXT day when I went to take that pill and realized I’d missed one.

Guess who ended up pregnant!

I’m not saying you’re 100% pregnant, just that missing a pill can definitely cause pregnancy. Our daughter is living proof! If your period doesn’t come when you expect it, get a Clearblue test. It’s digital so there’s no guessing around on whether the second line is there or not. It will just say Pregnant or Not Pregnant, and it can tell you within I want to say 3 days of your missed period?

@MissBoPeep: usually when people are overly worried about being pregnant they get bashed or something. I’ve seen it time and time again lol

Why would you get nasty responses? I don’t get it. Anyway, taking your pill one hour late won’t increase your pregnancy risk. I have been on the pill for years and usually take it between 6-9 pm and I have never gotten pregnant.

You should read your package insert just to make yourself feel better. If you miss one pill, you are just supposed to take it as soon as you remember, and no back up is needed. If you miss two pills in a row, that’s when you need a back up. Don’t worry!

I don’t think that taking your pills a few hours late is going to cause any problems.. But i’m not a doctor. You’ve been on them for 5 months so I think you should be okay. But again; i’m not a doctor. It does seem kind of odd that your period would start a week early two months in a row….. Not sure. I would wait and see if you still have your period normally. I wouldn’t panik until you miss your period. I think your period starting a week early is a different issue all together. I was on Birth Control for Years. I tried to take mine around 10pm but There were many nights I went to bed early so I took it at 8 or 9 and many weekends I wouldn’t remember until midnight or so. I don’t think an hour here or there is going to cause any problems…

@Kaitlin: Y should she expect nasty responses? She’s just asking a concerned question about Birth Control Pills.

You didn’t MISS any pills–you just took two an hour late. I’d be careful and double up on protection for the next month, but you should be okay.

Oh, I just reread your post and saw that you took it one hour late two days in a row…still you shouldn’t worry. One hour will not make a difference.

Taking a pill one hour late is unlikely to result in pregnancy.

However, if this is not a good time for you, take emergency contraception.

You don’t want to wait till you miss a period and find out you are pregnant. Then you’ll have a whole other decision to make.

I have friends who sometimes take BCP an hour apart…they just do it when they go to bed…so whenever that is. and that has worked for one of them for over 10 yrs …not saying you are NOT pregnant…but I think that one hour is really not gonna hurt….

I also dont understand why anyone would be nasty about this post!
