Wow, that is really crappy that they did that to you.  It seems like they should definitely give your deposit back if you paid one and luckily you have a little time to find a new place (I think).  After they did that to you I wouldn’t want to move the time or date even if I could.  And to answer your question, I say yes there is a reason that this happened and perhaps this isn’t the path you were supposed to take.  Which means…. there could be an absolutely perfect ceremony venue out there waiting for you to scoop it up 🙂

No, a lot more than that would be going wrong if that were the case… I just think you haven’t found the right venue yet.

Say goodbye to that church! wow, I can’t believe they did that. I would complain! (respectfully, of course!) If you are getting married in 2011 then you def have time to find another venue that will be perfect for you both! 🙂

@mrskisstobe: I’m sorry to hear that. My SO and his brother had a falling out because of the new sister-in-law and my SO’s brother didn’t make him the best man. This was really hard for my SO because they are only two years apart and the only two children, to have your only brother not choose you is tough. On the bright side everyone has moved passed the issues and are going forward as a family but still four years later I know both men wish it had been different. I hope things work out for your Fiance and his brother.

wow I would call immediately and complain.  did you sign a contract or pay a deposit?  I would speak to whom ever is in charge and demand some form of compensation.  Including recommendations to how to fix the problem or other churchs that are available.

It was probably a church member who bumped you.  I’m sorry you have to deal with this.  Ugh.

But, I bet you find an amazing replacement ceremony venue. if that’s what you want to do.

SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME! I tried to reason with the place and they were downright nasty and belittling. So now, it looks as if I’ll be getting married at the reception venue. Isn’t it awful?!
