Hi bees! I could really use your opinion! I just bought THE dress (I’m sooo happy!!) and I was really thinking about a birdcage veil, but then I saw this awesome piece on etsy..
Here’s the dress!
The dress is a corset, and I love the shape it gives me. Everyone thinks I’m nuts, but I don’t want to look like a princess, I want to go more toward the pin-up look. So what do you guys think? What would look better, a birdcage, or head piece?

What a gorgeous dress!
I voted for the headpiece – its so unique and I think it would add a fun and romantic look. My only hesitation is that sometimes, pieces like that look good on certain people (based on their head shape, hairstyle, etc.) while they look really silly on others. I’d recommend bringing the piece in to one of your fittings to make sure it looks good on you/with the dress (you could potentially sell it on here if it doesn’t work out.) I actually saw something similar (though not as cute) in the bridal shop when I went in for my fitting this weekend, so you might even be able to find one locally to try out. (It looked ridiculous on me, but awesome on my sister when she put it on for fun.)

That’s what I was afraid of..it looking completely ridiculous on me, and I have no idea how I’d do my hair. But you’re right, if I don’t like it, I could always try to sell it. I think I may go for it! Thanks 🙂

I definitely encourage you to buy it if you love it and see what it looks like with your dress. I was dead set on a birdcage veil, even ordered one and put it on and totally loved how it looked. Then I put it on with my dress… um, no. It was crazy. Totally didn’t go with my dress. So sad 🙁
I LOVE your dress! It’s just so elegant. I saw a bride who had a really similar style dress who wore fun shoes, glam makeup and a really fun bubble veil and she definitely didn’t look princessy, just totally glam. So that’s something to consider as well.

@Miss Root That sucks it didn’t go with your dress! 🙁 Did you find another veil you like? I’ve also been dead set on the birdcage, but I’ve never actually tried one on..

I say buy it and bring it with you – like other posters have said, it might look good. Or CRAZY in person! If you can pull it off, I think it would look lovely.

it’s probably just me but I don’t really like the headpiece I would say stay with the birdacge veil. I think the headpiece might be too much, like its competing for the attention with your dress.

I voted for the headpiece because it’s gorgeous, but I think either one would look great.
