Ok, don’t get mad but I think it looks better now! It was beautiful before but now the head looks more proportionate to the shank. Such a sweet ring!

It does look different, but I actually think it looks better and also seems more sturdy.

It looks wider and shorter, and you have to wonder why.  You already mentioned it was a fix.  It seems to me like the jeweler in order to avoid another problem with the mount, created a stronger structural base.  I don’t know why you would want it that high again.  I think it looks amazingly similar for such a detailed ring.

It looks originally the head of that ring was made for a larger stone as prongs should not be that long! You’re better off with how it is now- more security. Beautiful ring!
