I’m getting married in less than 2 weeks, October 15. I have decided to only have 2 ceremony songs to keep the wedding guest comfrontable with not having a super long ceremony. I’m having a bit of a hard time choosing the music… I’m thinking
“Makin Plans” – Miranda Lambert for entrance or ” Love song” – Miranda Lambert ( I may possibly us both, one for family and wedding party and one for myself) haven’t really decided yet. Orginal plan was just “Makin plans” for entrance for everyone. Its a pretty long song with lots of instrumentals
and
“Lifer” – Flordia Georgia Line for exit or ” H.O.L.Y” – Flordia Georgia Line
Cake cutting- Maroon 5 – “Sugar”
Daddy/daughter- Tim Mcgraw ” My little Girl”
First dance- Thinking Thomas Rhett- ” Die a Happy Man”
Bouquet Toss- Miranda/ Carrie ” Somethin Bad”
Garter Toss- undecided
Any options on these songs and how many songs to use and what are the wedding songs you choice?

For the grrom and bridal party they walked out to thomas rhett Die a happy man
I walked out to carrie underwood look at me
For exit we did Zac brown band “loving you easy”
First dance Blake shelton “god gave me you”
Cake cutting jason Mraz “Im yours”
we didnt do the boquet/garter toss or mother/son, father daughter dances though
For your garter toss you could do tim mcgraw “real good man”
trace adkins “ladoes love country boys”
Quessn “Another one bites the dust”
I love your boquet toss song, that will be cute!

soon2bemrsharrington : I used Sugar for my signing the document song and instead of Maroon 5, i found an accoustic cover by Tyler Ward. It was amazing. You should check it out as it would go with your country theme!

Bellebee31 : I haven’t even thought about the document signing. I guess we already did that when we went to registar of deeds and did the marriage liences, pretty sure we’ve already done all the signing on our part. We just need the officants signature and 2 witnesses.
I will check out the song! Thanks for the suggestion!

almostmrse2016 : LOVE those songs for garter toss songs. Actually thought of all of them. Thanks for the suggestions. As of now I think we are only doing father/daughter. I’m not sure he’s too excited about doing mother/son. He is close to his mother, but dancing isn’t his thing.

soon2bemrsharrington : I didn’t think of it either! But our DJ sent out of list of things we had to pick songs for and that was on there. I guess it beats awkward silence haha.
But ya, I definitely recommend that song! 🙂

Bellebee31 : Just listened to it, it’s beautiful! Thanks! Our DJ gave us a list as well but that wasn’t on there. I guess each DJ is different. I thinking using the Maroon 5 verison for cake cutting would be great. It’s uplifted and fun

I walked out to Vitamin String Quartet’s version of Tim McGraw “Best Friend”.
We’re country but we didn’t want that to be the only thing people heard.
There was no music during the ceremony.. just classic musical before. My bridal party and family walked out to VSQ “Can’t Help Falling in Love”- it’s either Buble’/Elvis versions I don’t remember which.
The processional song was VSQ- Sweet Child O Mine…cause we love GNR, and it’s pretty and it kinda fits.
We didn’t need to sign the document- only the witnesses did.
Cake Cutting was Sugar Sugar… fun song for the older folks. I could have cared less about songs at that point.
Family dances I think should be about those 2 people not what “fits”.
Our first dance was “She’s Ready” by Cole Swindell…kinda an odd song but it’s from a ngiht we went to his concert and I think we both knew that night that “this was it”.
Daddy/Daughter was “Angel” by Hendrix…cause that’s how he raised me and he always loved that song.
Mom/Son- PLEASE encourage your Fiance to do this. It’s not about him dancing, it’s about making his mother’s night by getting those few moments together with her “not so baby”. We let my Mother-In-Law pick her song with DH and it was tacky as all get out.. but she loved it and that was worth it.
I have NO clue what the bridal party walked in for the reception?! But we walked into it playing “Danger Zone” from Top Gun as most of our friends know that is a thing for us. We walked (or danced or something!) with our matching custom Ray Bans fist pumping. Everyone was laughing.
Find music that makes you smile, has a great memory, etc. Nobody is going to remember this but you unless it’s really out of the box.

soon2bemrsharrington : “Makin Plans” is one of my favorite songs,
ever. I suggest the following:
bridal party entrance/ mother of the brides/ grandparents etc : “Free Intro” and “Free” by Zak Brown Band. They flow nicely and can be dimmed out without feeling too forced.
Your entrance: “Makin Plans”; I’d do a soft acoustic here if your DJ can swing it. The instrumentals are gorgeous.
It’s personal preference, but I dislike FGL, so I’d nix them from the lineup. I think Blake Shelton’s “God Gave Me You” or “Honeybee” are fun exit songs.
Garter Toss could be- “Save a horse (ride a cowboy)” by Big N Rich (depending on your audience) or “Real Good Man” by Tim McGraw as suggested by a PP
“My Little Girl” is a good daddy/daughter song!
If you want some songs as filler during the time when the guests are arriving to before the wedding party enters:
Shania Twain – “From This Moment”
Tim McGraw/ Faith Hill – “It’s Your Love”
Keith Whitley – “When You Say Nothing At All”
Sammy Kershaw – “Love of my Life”
Clint Black/ Lisa Hartman – “When I said I Do”
Lonestar – “Amazed”
Garth Brooks – “To Make You Feel My Love”
Chris Stapleton’s version of – “You are My Sunshine”
Little Big Town – “Sober”
Hope these help!

*Side note- we really wanted DH and the groomsmen to walk to “The Final Countdown” by VSQ. Probably about 10 guys would have gotten the joke… we thought it was hilarious. Our parents weren’t so impressed!
Also, I think it’s a good idea to fade out the couple dance songs to 2min or so… a. guests don’t want to watch it for that long, b. keep the energy moving, c. you may have someone unwilling or unable to dance longer (my Mother-In-Law has RA and that much standing and dancing was hard on her).

fromatoz : Thanks for the help. Love the song choices for when the guest are being seated. Hadn’t really thought of that. We’re paying our DJ 1,000 so I want to get my moneys worth.
My fiance and I are big fans of FGL, he really wants one of their songs in it. So I want him to have a say as well. I think those song choices are great for exciting.
Mother/son.. I told him the same thing so I do believe he’ll do it, for his mother!

soon2bemrsharrington : One of my friends walked out to “Look at Me” – Carrie Underwood, so I agree with PP on that one! or for something else.. it’s just fitting for the bride to walk out to!
Love the bouquet toss song too!
