@geeky_bee:  Is it low on the wall?  Maybe put the dresser or a book shelf in front of it?  If it’s up higher, I agree that something like PP mentioned (or make something yourself) could be effective.

@geeky_bee:  Ikea Ribba frames are perfect for this kind of thing because they have a deep back on them. You can get them in all sizes and a variety of colours and then choose anything to frame in it.

Mrs.LemonDrop:  It’s phone wiring, so there isn’t (or shouldn’t be) any power running to it or through it. It’s ugly yes but I doubt it’s against code

@geeky_bee:  I would probably check some of the rental codes in your area. I doubt that it’s up to code to have the wiring out in the open like that for precisely the reason you’re worrying about. IMO, the landlord should fix it.

If they won’t, I’d have Darling Husband or my Dad make me a wooden hollow box that I could paint a decent color and I’d nail that sucker to the wall over it. The landlord really can’t say anything about a nail in the wall when they’re leaving exposed wires.

You can check at the hardware store for a cover. If not I like the idea of a piece of art/canvas over it.

Definitely a stretch canvas painting! Should cover it up just fine, you’d never know it was there. You could try Homegoods or a similar store to find cute nusery art for cheap

geeky_bee:  A shadow box frame is deep enough to cover that. I have one that I change the contents of with the seasons, but you could also make it all about the baby.

Baby Shadow box. So much cuter than having all the memories stuffed in a box somewhere!

mine is similar to this at Christmas

ETA- just saw your update- pretty.
