For my whole life (at least since I was three) I’ve raced BMX and motocross. All these years later, I’m left with gruesome reminders of some of my worst crashes. One of them being a compound fractured elbow, others just from some simple wipeouts, other just from rocks being kicked up riding with the boys. I have always hated the little “dotty” scars. My elbows don’t bother me so much because frankly, I feel awesome telling the stories behind them (lol), but the little scars from the rocks bother the heck out of me.
I would like to be able to cover them up on our wedding day, and recently this has become a huge deal to me. I did email my MUA to ask about options for covering up, but she’s in Mexico right now and will be until March 17th.
Essentially, I’m just looking for answers. Would I be okay with my MUA just putting some kind of coverup on my arms? Or would it rub off on my dress? The scars are on the outer part of my arm that won’t touch my dress, but I’m being paranoid.
Here’s some pictures from an inspiration shoot that I modeled for last February for some references.
*Note* Sorry about the formatting! It’s showing in my edit page that my text is in paragraphs, not sure why it’s showing up as one big cluster on the actual post?

I would be worried about it coming off as well.
I would think that your photographer would be able to work with you and poses and using your husband positioned in the right manor as well as maybe other props to take pictures where your arms are not the focal point.

I feel awful having my photographer have to edit a whole bunch of photos though and having to worry about that you know? And I’ll still know it’s visible, that’s my biggest issue. When I’m walking down the aisle, I’ll KNOW people can see those scars. It’s stupid, but it really does bother me.

@PacificMrs: they could maybe try tattoo cover. a professional MUA should be able to help, and have something that won’t rub off

I was looking for a post like this! I have several obvious self-injury scars on my arms – when trying on my dress yesterday I had a massive freak out about how obvious they are, particularly if I have close up photos of flowers, exchanging rings, etc (the ones on my ring hand are far worse). My only answer so far has been to have them Photoshopped out but people will still see them on the day.
I would definitely ask your makeup artist about tattoo cover – I have heard that Kat Von D’s is good, as well as Thin Lizzy. Unfortunately mine are on my inner arms so it would rub off on the dress, but I think it could work well for you.
