@livhefnerphoto:  My guess it was already cracked and moisture finally got in/jostled and made a large enough separation causing it to look different.

@beekiss2: wouldn’t a crack show up when viewing the diamond before purchasing?  And would a store really sell a cracked diamond?  That’s kind of a frightening thought!

Wait, by “repair,” you meant replace, right? Did they do this without your having to file an insurance claim?

@BanditGirl:  Maybe it wasn’t viewable to the new owners.  I’m not trying to discredit jewelers BUT some can be unethical.

Additionally, I agree with littlemissmango, I hope they replaced it.
