Ok I’ve read all the info and I know it’s normal but I’ll be 11 weeks the weekend without having a scan and I just feel anxious.
my cramping had eased up but I feel it there again today at 10w4days.
How long did cramping last for you in the first trimester or did it intensify at certain weeks?

I had periodic cramping throughout my entire pregnancy. It was somewhat rare by the beginning of my second trimester. It was the most intense between weeks 5-12.

Mine were there intermittently until around 14 weeks.

Newbie1982: I am so glad that you wrote this, I have been having cramping for the past few days and I was really starting to worry if this was normal or not. It comes and goes but it’s pretty bad sometimes.

Mine were the worst between weeks 6-9.

I started having some last week ( week 6)and more this week (week 7). Nothing unbearable, but definitely enough to cause me worry. Doc said unless it was accompanied by spotting or bleeding, not to worry because it’s normal due to ligament stretching.

I had cramping from weeks 5 to 10 or so.

Newbie1982: I’m also glad you wrote this, since I’ve been having very mild and sporadic cramping for two weeks straight. I’m 6w1d. It’s reassuring to hear that it seems pretty common.

You will have periods of cramping throughout your entire pregnancy. As long as it isn’t extreme or accompanied by bleeding you are fine.

Thanks ladies! It seems to have eased off again for now! It’s not bad or painful but I suppose you hear so much about morning sickness as a symptom before you get pregnant, No one ever mentions cramps!

Just think of it as your uterus stretching and making room.
Really though the cramping is the ligaments and muscles that hold your uterus in place being stretched. I notice it more when I cough or sneeze and sometimes just for no reason at all.
It’s a good thing.

Mine came and went too from weeks 7-11

With my first baby, I had cramps until about 8 weeks. With this pregnancy, I only had cramps off and on from 10DPO until a few days after my BFP. I’ve had none since, and I’m 6w5d.

I am 13+4 and have had cramping intermittently throughout. It was worse and more frequent earlier on but there are still times when my stomach feels tender. Cramping is your uterus growing and expanding. Unless it is extremely painful and/or accompanied by bleeding you should be fine.
Hope your first scan goes well. It is such a magical moment!
