Darling Husband and I have been TTC since August. I’m older than the average (37) and I’m trying not to get my hopes too high, especially since it’s only been a few months. I kind of got it in my head that I was probably going to need medical assistance to get pregnant.
That being said… I’m pretty sure I ovulated last Friday (OPK and temp indicated it), and I started feeling dull cramps about 5 dpo, which are still with me now on day 8. These cramps are with me all day, decrease if I am active but increase if I am resting. I also noted an increase of white creamy CM, which I see almost daily. My lower abdomen feels heavy; not sure what else to call it. Breasts are tender, but definitely not anything worse than I usually get before AF. I typically get most standard PMS symptoms (tired, bloating, irritability, cramps) a few days before AF arrives, and I have all of these too – just much eariler than I usually get them. AF is due on Oct 18.
I know everyone is different, but could these symptoms be a signal for a BFP? When could I test? I wanted to wait until the day I was expecting my period, but I’m not sure I can wait. 🙂 LOL.

Yes they could be, but I get these symptoms around the exact same time as well and it wasn’t always normal for me. It has become my normal though and it’s annoying b/c every monthI think I’m implanting. Like right now! (8dpo). So, yeah, could go either way. For me, the earliest I’ll test is 10dpo but of course if you can, it’s best to wait for your missed period to avoid the depression that comes with a negative pregnancy test. Good luck!!!!

I thought I’d read somewhere that testing before 12 DPO is most likely going to result in a negative, even if you are pregnant. But on the other hand, I’ve seen ladies on here get a BFP as early as 8 – 10 DPO. So, I guess what I’m saying is if you test now at 8 DPO, don’t be discouraged if it’s negative. If it were me, I’d try really hard to hold out a little longer! I’m in my first cycle TTC, and I’ve made myself promise I’ll wait until the day AF is due…but we’ll see if I am really able to hold out that long when the time comes!

@emmanneliza: That’s pretty much how I felt before I got my BFP. I tested on 8dpo negative, 12dpo positive!

@emmanneliza: It could be positive. However, that happened me a couple of cycles ago. Exactly the pain you described right up to AF. Don’t know why but I wasn’t pregnant. Symptom spotting can be dangerous because it can cause a lot more disappointment. I really hope you are though. GL

Thanks, everyone. I appreciate everyone’s honesty and good luck wishes. The more I think about my symptoms, I feel like AF will arrive at any second, even though she’s not expected until Friday. Breast tenderness increased last night, which is exactly what I expect each month. I’ll just hold off until Friday to test… No point wasting a test if she arrives on time. I’ll keep my fingers crossed that she stays away, though. 🙂

Came back to update… not PG. Tested Friday and got a BFN, then AF arrived later that afternoon. Just a bad bout of PMS, I guess. DH and I will keep on tryin’.

@phoebephoebo: <– that! Sometimes I get PMS symptoms up to 2 weeks ahead of AF. Sometimes only 5-6 days. Weird how our bodies operate. Doesn’t help the cause at all. (I am a bit older too.)
