so i’m 16w2d today and i’m really tired of looking fat and not pregnant. i feel like every bump picture i look at people have fun, round baby bumps to show at this point. i just look like i ate too much and stopped working out. it almost makes this whole pregnancy not seem real yet, which is annoying.
there’s really no point to this post, i’m just cranky and tired of clothes not fitting, but not quite looking pregnant. in like 2 weeks, i’ll probably be complaining that i have a huge bump, haha. we’ll see…
anyone else in the same boat? or have words of encouragement?

I’ll complain too! I have lost like 3lbs (just from like loss of appetitie I guess) but NONE of my clothes fit right. I feel SO uncomfortable. Why cant we feel crappy when we are showing so at least people understand why we are cranky. haha.
I am sitting at work drinking soda water and eating crackers… could I be any more obvious?? haha. I am 7 weeks today.

Get new clothes (maternity)– seriously, it was the only way I started feeling better about myself around that time. I got so cranky just getting dressed in the morning and feeling like stuffed sausage, because nonmaternity clothes just hugged in the wrong places. Now I’m in my third tri and outgrowing my maternity clothes 🙁 I’m soooo close, I really don’t want to buy more!

i have a few maternity items, but i feel like i’m in that weird in-between stage where those clothes are too big but my normal clothes are too small. i know i shouldn’t complain and i should just be thankful that everything is running smoothly and healthy, but man, i’m ready for today to be over so i can go home and change into yoga pants 🙂

I totally feel you! I’m a week behind you and have felt like I just look chubby and not like I have a nice round baby bump for ages now (it seems like). It is very clothing dependent though. If I have loose pants and a long tight fitting shirt (like pjs really), I look cute pregnant. If I wear regular pants, I look like I just tried to squeeze myself into my jeans and my chub is flowing over. If I wear my new fancy maternity pants (with a low elastic waist band), what looks like a nice bump without clothes turns out to just be the soft stuff pushed up and out, so the elastic band cuts into it and makes it look just like chub again. The only cute bump I get is from the belly band unfolded over unbuttoned, mosty unzipped regular jeans with a tight fitting tank on. If I could wear that one outfit everyday, I probably would at this point.
Anyway, that was really long, but again, I’m right there with you! Soon enough we will look cute again 🙂

I agree with the poster that said to get maternity clothes. When I was about 4 months, I started wearing the maternity tops with the empire waste and ties (bow in the back) so that people would KNOW I’m pregnant and not just fat. That helped my self esteem! 🙂 Before you know it, you will have a bump. You are just in that in-between period. I totally relate!
