This Vera Wang dress…it doesn’t look that crazy on the model’s picture..but it looked so funny on me..First of all it is much bigger in real life..and on top of that I am not as tall as this model…I looked like a giant wedding cake in it…couldn’t move or walk…too bad they didn’t allow me to take a picture…

@MadsTheGallifreyan:  I’m pretty sure it was from the 80’s lol! This was taken at the store that did my alterations. She also had second hand wedding and pron dresses.

@bigcitydiamonds:@Audrey2:@goingtotherooftopoflove:@MsMeow:@patchy:: My couch comment even made the consultant laugh. For some reason it was one my sister’s favorite dress. Still to this day. But the lace was so heavy and large that it reminded me of those afghans grandmothers would have on the back of their couches and don’t even get me started on that peplum thing!

And Patchy, the back of that dress…WHOA! That’s a whole lot of rufflage going on!

Oh god.  One dress I tried on had this huuuuuuuge skirt and train made up of runched up flowers….the train just kept going and going…six feet of runched flowers.   Everyone in the shop was like “Oooohh, pretty!” and I was just trying to walk while hauling around 40lbs of fabric.   The stylist asked me what I thought, and I was like “I’d need a limo just for the dress!!”    I’m sure a bunch of bees have it as their dress, and it was pretty, but it certainly wasn’t me!

The best (awful) dress I tried on was this $8000+ monstrosity of a bridal dress…it had this very yellow-y ivory fabric (think nicotine stained walls) in a sort of lineny/raw silk weave, and when the consultant asked what I thought, I told her I felt like a “60’s lampshade”.    It was so very very ugly.  I wish we could have gotten a picture of it!!  I didn’t pick it out, the consultant told me she had something “different but new” for me to try on.  LOL!
