I was startled out of my sleep around 4 AM due to a wedding horror dream. Just figured I’d share.
I was in a house walking through, minding my own business. I walked into one room and Future Mother-In-Law and Future Brother-In-Law were sitting at a table together. All of the sudden I began to panic and looked at the clock. It was fifteen minutes until my wedding and I was wearing pajamas. I had no makeup and my hair wasn’t done. Nothing had been done to decorate our venue. So, I started scrambling around to get my wedding night lingere and makeup on (FMIL somehow had these things up under the table she was sitting at). Future Mother-In-Law was pulling centerpieces and table runners out from under the table and was barking at Future Brother-In-Law to hurry up and decorate. She kept saying, “We have time!” I realized then that my wedding CD hadn’t made it to the church (in the dream we were having a church wedding). So, out of nowhere, an amplifier appears and I got my iPod out and hooked it to the amp, and told Future Brother-In-Law to take it to the church. Yes, I was wearing lingere while Future Brother-In-Law was in the room. Weird, I know… FBIL hurried off with the amp and the iPod. After he was gone, I realized I hadn’t told him exactly which songs I wanted played. So, FMIL called him. Suddenly, the room I was dressing in turned into the foyer of the church. When Future Brother-In-Law opened the doors to ask Future Mother-In-Law what songs we wanted, my scantily clad body was exposed to a sea of guests. Some of them turned around, others didn’t notice me before I dove down behind a table to hide. I felt like throwing up because there were about triple my intended number of guests in the church waiting for me to walk down the aisle.
I ended up walking down the aisle to boring ol’ “Here Comes the Bride”. My hair was a wreck.. I don’t even think I had my veil in. I had no bridesmaids, no bouquet, and my “church” was not decorated. There were just plain white walls. Then, the church turned into something that resembled a high school auditorium. There was a stage where Fiance was waiting for me. He was smiling this huge smile at me, even though I was mortified at my hair/makeup/lack of decor. I just remember him taking my hand and then I woke up.
I imagine I should be expecting this to occur more often over the next ten months…
