So, I am getting Fiance these shoes for his B-day:
We both own a pair of the athletic-shoe looking ones that we wear walking/hiking/running.
Fiance jokingly said he wants to wear them at our wedding, and I just might let him… am I crazy?
FYI, our wedding is going to be a pretty casual outdoor affair – the guys are wearing khakis, white shirts and bow ties.
I guess, for me it’s cute, quirky, and fun… and many of our friends would agree. But I don’t want to freak out the family! Haha.
Would you let your guy wear these in my situation?

Everyone I know that has these shoes loves them! And I would probably let my guy wear them (although he wouldn’t, haha).

I have never seen these,. I wouldn’t be into it, and I’m pretty sure he wouldn’t even if I tried to make him. They look like Sasquatch feet to me.
I’m all for doing whatever you want though, so if it’d make him happy then go for it.

I know quite a few people that wear these for volleyball (outdoor grass) and love them. I am tempted to get a pair myself.

I have a pair. I really love them! I’ve actually thought about changing in to mine at the reception. I think they’re a great gift.

Eeeep! I have a visceral negation reaction to this type of shoes. Not like the reaction you would have to other clothing that you think is ugly, but like the same reaction you would have to seeing a cockroach. Maybe because it looks like the wearer is walking around with dirty, bare feet? So, I vote for crazy, even though I might be the one with the crazy toe-shoe phobia.

@Future Mrs K: For me, they are very comfy, and I have really tiny, wide feet with short toes. Fiance has long narrow feet and long monkey toes and he loves his. He wants this pair to wear to work!
I am well aware that some people just hate the way they look, and I guess I’m all for comfort, but I don’t want the focus of the day to be “look at those funky shoes the groom is wearing!” “cool!” or “ewww”!

I brought DH’s New Balances to wear at the wedding! I gave them to him after the cake cutting and toasts though…he was happy to Boogie Down in them! I’d surprise him!

No way!!!! My Fiance has a pair and they are so much ulgier on!!!! Although his are black with bright red around the toe part so it brings attention to the toes. Every time are in public I hear people talking about his shoes. Ugh!
