I used to be afraid of cotton balls too!  No idea why- I was a toddler and my mom has told me (and laughed at me) ever since that I was terrified of cotton balls & poop.

Now, I tend to get anxious in large crowds, hate having my back to a doorway, and there is NO WAY IN HELL I will go anywhere near one of those camel cricket/cave spider jumping ma-jiggies.

I am also irrationally afraid of snot (like if I am working with a little one and they have huge snot bubbles coming out of their nose… just.can’t.do.it!)

I am afraid of birds.  I get scared that they will swoop down and peck me.  Maybe that’s because I was attacked by a hawk in college…

Irrational fear of all spiders (like, scream bloody murder in the shower until someone comes to kill it, I don’t care if I’m naked type of scared).

Also, fear of ankle slashers – people hiding under your car to cut your Achilles tendon so that you cannot run away. <- That seriously look me 3 minutes to type out the AT part….Mr.ND cannot touch my ankles whatsoever. Extreme phobia.

Im scared of the usual really, spiders, the dentist etc. My spider phobia seems to be getting worse as I get older though, now if I see one I have a full blown panic attack! My weird phobia though is the closet door! I cannot go to sleep at night if the wardrobe door is open, even a crack,it terrifies me. I think it goes back to childhood and monsters in the cupboard!

birds. oh. my. god. birds. I cannot deal with them. they freak me out so badly. god forbid they come close to me or something. I hate even driving by them. you know how in a parking lot sometimes seagulls or birds will just hang out there waiting for food? or is that just a city thing? lol idk anyway, I will drive completely around that area and if its by the store I am trying to go to or whatever, ill skip it completely just to not have to go by the birds. Oh god….and when there are a whole mess of birds on the electric lines like all lined up it literally makes me gag to see that.

spiders. I literally freeze when I see one. It can be small, big, doesnt matter. the minute I spot it I just freeze. Even if its across the room. yuck.

@DeadlyNightshade:  For far more years than I would care to admit I was afraid to sit on the toilet because I was afraid it would randomly flush and suck me in.

I can’t sleep without something covering my neck because then a vampire could kill me while I’m asleep.  Because obviously a blanket over my neck is going to keep a vampire from killing me.

@kimbo89:  I dont know why I only thought of like animal type fears. But you mentioned the closet door…Im like that with my bedroom door. I cannot sleep with it open. Not even a little bit. I also dont like walking out of dark rooms. Walking in doesnt bother me because I flip on the light right away but walking out of a dark room freaks me out, I basically run out and slam the door behind me as quickly as possible. I guess I just feel like when the lights go out the scaries come out so if i get out quick and slam the door they cant get me lol
