I have seen A LOT of brides pick a one color bouquet such as cream/ivory. It looks very elegant and I like it , however, for some reason to me its a bit boring. I haven’t decided yet on my bouquets but so far I thought my bridesmaids will be wearing purple and wanted for them to have cream bouquets and for me to have a different shade of purple.
I want my wedding to be elegant and our venue is very elegant, would that ruin the whole look? Also would that look dated in pictures with the colored bouquet?

I see what you mean about the all white/ivory. But I don’t think a color bouquet will take away from the elegance at all. I think it will look pretty, not dated.

The trick with neutral or monochromatic bouquets is to use the structure of both the flowers themselves and the arrangement of them to create depth and visual interest. A full bouquet of cream roses and a bouquet of cream calla lillies both look classic and elegant, but the calla lillies (IMO) have more visual interest because their shape and structure allows for more play of light and shadow.
Basically, if you want to go monochromatic, then you need to make the most of the shapes and proportons in the bouquet. I’d find out what will be in season in your colours in September and see what options you have.

What about a compromise between the two? Have a mostly cream coloured bouquet with purple dispured through it?
