My sister used our grandmother’s diamond. I’m not sure how much it cost so I’m not much help there… but, make sure to show your ring to a jeweler before you get too attached to this idea. The jeweler my sister went to said there was a chance the stone could fall apart if taken out of the setting because of its age (it was a circa 1920 ring). It ended up being fine but they had to go with a new setting that completely encompassed the diamond (i.e. no prongs) to keep the stone intact.

Hope that helps! 🙂

My Fiance took hisgrandmothers diamonds out of her setting and put it in a new setting. It was 1000 for the new setting and that was all he had to pay. I love my ring and it makes me so happy that he wants me to wear his grandmothers diamonds.

The middle diamond is .8 the sides diamonds equal .89

Thank you so much… I was proud of him he did it all by himself… Good luck with your ring… I bet it turns out so pretty!
