I did mine in-store, and I’d recommend not doing it like that if you can avoid it.  The sales people were really, really pushy (commission based).  One of them tried to follow me around the store and hand-write everything I wanted to register for, rather than giving me a scanner.  I asked her for a scanner, and she said they were broken.  My mother asked the manager for a scanner and I had one in my hands 2 minutes later.  So on top of being pushy, she also lied.

We did. It’s easy to start online and then to add in the store.

I did ours at Macy’s and I did 95% online, then added just a few items in the store a few months later.

We did it online and have not gone to the store to add gifts. Our BB&B is on the city’s busiest road and we hate going to that area. So far no issues with just doing it online but we aren’t registered for anything there that we might want to touch or see in person like towels, bedding, etc

I started it online, then we went to the store.  They were really nice – showed us a few things, gave us a gun, and left us alone.  We added stuff online as we thought of it.

They mailed me the little cards after I set it up and she offered me more in the store.  They’re all sitting at home in a pile of unused wedding stuff – you’re welcome to them.  🙂  You fill in your own name and registry #.

We started at the store and had an amazing experience.  I had heard some bad stories online and almost didn’t want to do a registry there but I know it will make it so much easier on our guests (cost and convience wise) so I sucked it up.  We signed up, they handed us the gun and we were off.  Not a single sales person bothered us.  I guess you can take this either way though, we never had anyone really ask how we were doing and if we needed help but I was happy.  I didn’t want people telling me what I “should” register for.
