I know there’s a million threads on this topic, but I haven’t found what I’m looking for.
Our ring bearer is a very masculine 4-year-old boy with a giant imagination. We asked him if he would be our ring bearer and he scoffed….said he wanted to be a firetruck instead. Now he wants to be spiderman. So, we tossed the pillow idea out the window. Seems preposterous for such an energetic, adorable male.
So my question – has anyone done a creative alternative to the pillow that goes along with the boy’s personality? I like the idea of being a crier or carrying a sign, but our aisle is reallllllllllllllly long and he’ll probably get tired or bored of yelling / carrying / etc. We may buy him a spiderman bowtie and a spiderman pillow.
Any thoughts?? Thanks!

The first thing that came to my mind is – what a cool kid!!
How about a Spiderman pillow pal. You could sew a piece of string to the pillow hands and then tie the fake rings together to make it look like Spiderman is carrying them. When the ceremony is over a little snip and the Spiderman pillow pal is as good as new.
Or would you be willing to have him wear Spiderman gloves. Then sew one fake ring to where the web spinners would be. Every time he turned over his hand to “shoot a web” the rings would be seen.
*As a minister I must say this… please do not give your real rings to a child. Unless you can handle them being lost or damaged.*

We considered having my nephew walk down the isle with our dog, and having the pillow attached to the dog. He LOVES our dog, and never wants to leave when he comes to visit– and my Fiance wanted to include the pup in the ceremony too– so this was the best of both worlds.

Not much real advice as a bride who had a ring bearer fail his mission to make it down the aisle. Complete and total melt down as we lined up to walk out.
Just wanted to say that he sounds like an awesome kid who is excited to have a “role” in the wedding and you should play off that. I would totally let him wear a cape or something so he could be the “super hero guarding the rings” or something like that to keep him excited about it.

Ladies! Thanks for giving me great ideas. Sorry it’s taken me a few days to respond. I had emergency wisdom tooth surgery on Tuesday. It’s been a rough week!
@RevMic: I love love love your ideas! We actually had thought of fake spinners, but you’re idea brings it together perfectly.
@Yellowshoe: We wanted to name him something fun in the program, so Super Hero Of the Rings might be it!
Thanks so much ladies.

I’ve seen some pictures of Ring Bearer driving a little vintage car down the aisle (outdoor venue) and I’ve seen them pull a little Radio Flyer wagon behind them with the Flower Girl in it or pets.

@lilbluebird: OMG. That is the single cutest thing I’ve ever seen. We have a giant fountain that runs the length of our aisle. Would be so dangerous 🙂
