My Fiance and I are both creative, and I believe us both to be talented in different ways. He is the type of guy who is good at most everything he does, and if he’s not, he will study it to death and then be good at it. He basically can do anything he puts his mind to. Which is one of the things I admire about him. He is also meticulous about everything, very neat, organized and tidy. If you need edges on a paper project cut perfectly hes your man, or if you want organization of art materials, it’s done perfectly.
I, on the other hand happen to be a creative mess. My work space is a heap of scraps, and flower bits and whatever other medium I’m toying with at the moment. The end result is usually what I envision but I work by trial and error. I work my having an idea pop into my head, visualizing it and doing it then, there, now. No planning except usually the days ahead (not months in advance), or right then and now.
I don’t study videos on it, or look to other sites doing it. I just do it, in the way I want, and make it happen.
We hardly see eye to eye about anything, when it comes to artistic vision and I am envious of couples whos SO want nothing to do with the decorating of the house, or the presentation of the food. Picking out a living room set, or decorating idea was horrible. In the end we somehow meshed both of our styles but geeze.
With all of this said, or DIY projects for this wedding are going badly. We keep arguing over minute details, and what corresponds with what, and what twine to use. In the Paper Source last night it was almost a brawl over stamp and paper stock thickness. It’s driving me insane.
He wants to line a gift box in vintage maps, and I say No becuase our wedding has nothing to do with MAPS, it’s got a slight nod to art noveau .If I give him a suggestion it’s an argument. And I suppose it’s the same way with him. Any couples deal with this besides me?
