I didn’t announce it on FB, but my FH had told LOTS of people he was going to propose on my birthday, so they were expecting it. I just put “I’m walking on sunshine” (I am a Gleek also LOL)

I think that anything is appropriate – but don’t pull out your blackberry right after it happens and post – that is insane. I have a friend that can’t do anything without posting about it. Some things need time to settle in, not to mention telling your close family and friends before blasting it on the internet!

I’m pretty sure I quoted Beyonce, which at the time I thought was soooooooo clever.

A few days after we told the most important people, I posted “____ said “yes” but will be keeping her last name!”

lol, the first thing my fiance asked was not to announce it on FB. So about a week later after family had been notified we changed out relationship status.

I waited until everyone that I needed to tell personally knew and then just changed my relationship status not my profile status….

I moved away from almost all my good friends about 4 years ago so when we got engaged, I called the people who I wanted to tell personally, texted those who I’m close to but not close enough to call them (otherwise I’d be making WAY too many calls!) and then I did post on FB for those people who I keep in touch with on there since I’m so far away.  It wasn’t for attention, I’m not usually a FB status updater, but I just wanted the people who I am friends with to know.

By The Way I said “I’m so excited to marry my best friend!”  So I’m partial to announcing it that way! 🙂

Right before I got engaged I had a ton of people who were getting married/engaged as well. My facebook status said “_____ is jumping on the matrimonial bandwagon!”

My status was: “HOLY SNICKERDOODLES! ENGAGED STATUS!”

I was told that was the most genuine reaction to an engagement.

After telling the people who would get peeved if they found out on FB, I put “MUI831 is going from a Miss to a Mrs.”
