@saraja87:  Now that is fantastic! It’s decoupage. I wonder if we could pull something off like that for a diy!

We are still debating what to use since our ringbearers (yes, we have 2 as well… as PP said, can’t pick between nephews!) will be 3 & 4. So far the contestants are a thin wood slice with Bride/Groom burned into it with Tiffany Blue & Magenta Ribbons or faux Tiffany & Co. boxes wrapped with ribbon to keep them closed. Our aisle is only about 50-60 feet so there isn’t too much that could happen! 😉

We’re doing a bear too, but more because my oldest niece is our ring bearer. We don’t have any young boys in either of our families and I wanted both nieces in the wedding but not two flower girls. I’m planning on taking her to the Build-a-Bear to let her build her own bear to carry down the aisle and keep for herself afterwards. I was going to do the green button mum pillow or ball, but I saw the bear idea and fell in love with it. She’s so excited and keeps bothering her mom to come to visit soon so she can make her bear. I’m planning on tying the real rings to a ribbon around its neck since she’s older and it’s a short walk down our aisle. I know some people think that’s crazy, but I trust her and we’ve talked about what an important job she has.

We ended up having our two boys carry huge sparklers (2 in each hand), sort of to ‘announce’ that the bride (I) was coming, and my husband just put the rings in his pocket.  It turned out really cool!  The boys were older though (11) so I don’t know if this would work for most people…
