Check out R Lawrence Photography–he’s based out of Southern PA, but has traveled to Annapolis and DC before. Most of the pics on his website are color, however, when we met with him he gave us the opportunity to choose to have the wedding shot in 50/50, 60/40, 70/30 b&w/color. He’s also very, very creative–although you may have to look at him on facebook to see some of those. I think his prices start around $2500 for an 8 hour day with himself, a second shooter and an assistant. Prices go up from there. Good luck =)

Sarah Culver‘s style in photojournalistic. She’s up in Annapolis but does wedding in the DC area and beyond. She’s doing our engagement pics! Make sure you look at her blog for more wedding shots.

Don’t forget that you can also request a photographer to change a color shot to a black and white.

I’m a wedding photographer in the D.C. area.  Definitely love the candids as well as “posed” candids.  I strive for magazine quality images that are worthy of being published.  $300/ hour with assistant, backup equipment, all photos professionally edited in color and black & white.  http://www.photographydujour.com P.S. I’m fun to work with 🙂

Google, Vestic Photography. He is in North Carolina, but travels to NY, DC, and surrounding states. He’s travel cost are cheap and his photographs are amazing. You will be in love with the pictures on is webpage! Hope this helps.

We used Madeline Marshall. She has done internships as the Washington Post, so she’s great at capturing in the moment shots.  She is a second shooter for a well known area photographer and is member of Wedding Photojournalist Association (you have to apply and be accepted). I think her top package is less than $3000.

Matt is great, he did our wedding, and we love the pics he did for us!  I told him I didn’t really want a lot of posed pics, and we got the normal ones, and a ton of candid as well

Epitome of photojournalistic.  He is one of the National Press Club photographers.  He is such an awesome guy and has amazing deals within his packages.  I highly recommend him!!
