I would have a slightly larger list of soft drinks rather than just coke and plain old water. I would include perhaps fruit juice or lemonade or something. If you can’t drink coke because you can’t have caffeine or whatever that means the only other option is water. Too restrictive and a bit boring, theme or not. Sorry but a lot of people do prefer to have a bit more choice.

Our caterer provided lemonade and lemon/cucumber-infused water. They had it on a regular table (with our linens) in the nice glass dispensers and stacks of plain square cocktail napkins and nice plastic cups. This was the only thing available prior to the ceremony. It was nice and classy and we received compliments on it. We didn’t have signage or anything, but I think most people “got the idea.”

If it is cold, you can also add tea/coffee in pitchers. We went to another wedding that had that prior to the ceremony, in addition to water.

I would just not have the bar open, especially if water and coke are served in bottles just laid out. I always think it’s best to highlight the hospitality you ARE providing rather than pointing out what’s not available.  I honestly wouldn’t expect adult beverages to be available pre ceremony.

We only had bottled water available in a bucket at ours.

I don’t think you need a sign. I’ve been to three weddings (including my own) where refreshments were served before the ceremony, and all were non-alcoholic. Only one was anything other than bottled water, and that was fizzy water. I think water and a punch or lemonade would work great for yours. Guests don’t expect alcohol before the ceremony.

And I really hope you have baseball-inspired snacks (like Cracker Jacks- how awesome would that be? Or as favors!)
