It’s a little weird to only have two options.  Maybe have sodas available, iced tea, lemonade, and water?  Or at least more than just two?  But I don’t think you need to worry — no one will expect it so it will be a nice surprise!

I thought the coke and water was a little odd, until you explained it.  I’ve never had refreshments before the ceremony, so having the very limitied options seems fine to me!

If your purpose is to not have drunk people why are you restricing non-alcoholic beverages? OJ does not make people drunk… so why not extend the offer to all non alcoholic drinks?

I think it’s a fun idea to have the apps and sodas on the way, and then open the bar after. If I read your comments correctly, you guys are taking the boat out to a ceremony site? How about something like

“We’ll be at the ceremony in a jump, skip, and hop,

Pease take time to visit with some appetizers and pop.

Once we arive and we say the I Dos,

We can toast with champagne, cocktails, and brews!”

@SFGiantsbride:  then I suggest supplying at least a 4 options water or coke is very limiting. I’d say at least 2 types of pop, 2 juices and water for options.

I’m assuming that orange in one of your colors- you could do Coke, Fanta, and water- keep the drinks in your color palette.

You can buy more types of soft drinks than coke and water at a supermarket or wholesalers and still save money on the expensive bar

We just had water available before the ceremony and it was open bar for the rest of the day. I don’t see anything wrong with that at all!
