BUMP cos I also want answers!

I came on here to ask this very question – I made boxes for my Maid/Matron of Honor & Bridesmaid or Best Man, so my partner wants to do *something* for his Bridesmaid or Best Man & Groomsmen. But nothing too over the top. All the boys are nerdy (work/ed in the same IT dept) so maybe I’ll find something in that theme.

Any ideas?

let the groom handle this, in his own style. It’s not the bride’s place.

My So received the groomsman  invite by card or is this not special enough?

+1 to fishbone’s response

I know this is very much a gender stereotype, but I don’t think men get as excited about it as women do.  Have your Fiance take them out to eat and ask them.  Boom- free food, hanging out with friends…that was what my groomsmen enjoyed.

Don’t worry, I don’t plan on hijacking my partner’s plans! I’ve no intention of stepping on his toes with the guy issues. He’s already sounded out the Best Man, but wanted to do *something* a bit more to officially ask them.

I showed him some pics from Pinterest – bottles of booze, cigars etc. For now he’s thnking of something to do with The Bro Code, which is pretty cool.

When Fiance asked his older brother to be his best man, the conversation went as follows (I was standing right there, so this is accurate):

Fiance: “What are you doing the day of our wedding?”

Big Bro: “Uh… Well, I’ll probably be attending your wedding.” (subtext: I’ll obviously be attending your wedding)

Fiance: “Want to be my best man?”

It was pretty funny, and possibly my favorite wedding-related moment to date. SO awkward.

But if you’re creative and someone is nerdy, what about doing a small comic book (not a giant graphic novel) where you draw a few frames with your Fiance taking the guy for a beer or whatever setting, then asks him and it says “to be continued…” *I’m such a geek*

@candykristina:  that’s pretty cool!

My partner has only spoken to best man so far. He’s kinda freaked about the speech so I told him not to worry cos my sister/MOH would be drunk & crying for her speech.

@babybug0507: The way that my Fiance was asked to be a groomsman was actually really cute. The couple had everyone over and had put custom labels onto beer bottles that said “Groomsman” and “Best Man”

It took the guys a while to figure it out (their ladies were all dying of laughter and wanting to say something) but it was actually adorable and my Fiance kept the bottle 🙂

For ones that don’t drink you can put the labels onto something else? Bottled Water maybe??? Or Sparkling Water?
