I ended up asking my friend to be my Maid/Matron of Honor over Facebook but had I had the time to think about it I would have created a little “scrapbook” of our friendship together (we’ve known each other for 7 years) and at the end of it asked her if she’d be my Maid/Matron of Honor. 🙂 But I’m a bit of a sentimental fool like that 😉

Have you looked in the DIY section of WeddingBee? They had some great ideas that I would’ve done had I a longer engagement.

I just got little glittery cards and wrote a note about our 10+ year friendship and mailed it to her =)

I made each of my ladies these with a poem that I found on another wedding site & tweaked to work for us.

I’m going to be including a handwritten note and a gift when I send them along.

I don’t have the poem on hand right now, but if you’re interested let me know and I’ll find it for you.

I made a picture collage of me and my Maid/Matron of Honor and in the middlewrote the questions “Will you be my Maid of Honor” – it made her cry 🙂

I got all of my girls a little pocket mirror from etsy and had cards custom made from etsy.  I mailed them all to them and it was a nice suprise.  I made a little purse with my cricut machine for each to go in aswell.

I found a lot of DIY card ideas online and combined my favorite aspects of each of them. I ended up making a paper doll card similar to the one found on once wed, I believe. Each card was personalized. They loved them!

Most the girls I asked in person while out to dinner individually but one of the girls I knew I’d be seeing with a lot of friends (she was in town as she lives far away) and it would be a big deal to her to be my Bridesmaid or Best Man so I got a ring pop and “proposed” to her, asked her if she would be my bridesmaid. She was super excited and wore the blue ring all night. It was really fun!

My friend and her Fiance took me out to breakfast and then “proposed.” It was pretty funny.
