Our venue is creative, but it isn’t cheap.  We are getting married in the Henry Ford Museum, and I am super excited about it!  I just thought I’d share because I saw that you’re from Ann Arbor πŸ™‚

we’re getting married in a playhouse/ movie theater. It’s saving us tons! it cost 500 dollars for the day. πŸ™‚ it’s so beautiful we’re getting married up on the stage and a reception in upstairs.

Also, I was just talking to a friend about potential venues in the Ann Arbor area, and we came across the Arbor Brewing Company.  If you’re into beer, they are pretty reasonable, and they have 3 very different spaces.

Well, we started investagating (and I’m not even engaged yet…lol) rental vacation houses.  Depending on where you are, there could be mansions for about 1500 for the whole WEEK.  Then you can even have out of town bridal party stay there, especially for those who need the help getting to the wedding.

Of course we have looked at no real logistics of this… just something we are looking in to.

We are still on the look out for other ideas though.

@kmsw:  How funny… let me know how its going.  Crazy stuff keeps coming into my head that would totally road block the idea…. parking, permits, etc…

We found that smaller, lesser known museums had better pricing. Same with small theatres/creative alliances. Only downside of those is that the space isn’t as dramatic/ might need more decorating.

We are getting married at a minor league baseball stadium.  We are getting married on the field and their reception area is really nice.

County park pavillion near my parents home.  It’s a beautiful, large stone building.  The park has camp sites, a small beach, fishing, ect.  We have it the whole day, has nice outside area for the ceremony, and a lovely outside poarch area.  And inexpensive!
